Welcome to The Serial Box — a review and analysis blog on the most addictive substance man has yet to offer: serialized television drama.
The Serial Box was born in June of 2010 out of pure and selfish necessity. The thought occurred to me during the final season of LOST — a show for which I maintained a series of weekly reviews via the Notes application on Facebook for over three years. With the end of LOST looming, I realized that the possibility of never again engaging in that sense of community over a serialized show (added to the suckfest that is watching a show your friends don’t) was too much to bear. I looked for a blog or website which focused on reviewing serialized dramas, exclusively, and I couldn’t find one. So, I took matters into my own hands with the high hopes that I wasn’t the only anguished soul suffering from this syndrome.
